We were so grateful to be voted SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America) 2013 Bluegrass Gospel Group of the Year at the Midwest Convention in Jefferson City, MO on January 12th. We thank all of the people who support us and voted for us. It was so good to see so many of our friends at the convention, those that play in the other groups as well as those that just like to listen. A couple of pictures follow from the convention, one of us as we accepted our award and the other as we performed earlier in the day. We also enjoyed our gospel set on Sunday morning, always a highlight for us.
We are so very pleased to find out that we have been nominated for 9 SPBGMA awards (midwest). We are scheduled to play both Saturday (Jan 12th) and Sunday (Jan 13th) during the upcoming convention and will see if we win any of the awards during the awards show on Saturday night. Bob was again nominated for Songwriter of the Year and for both the Contemporary and Traditional Male Vocalist of the Year awards. Laura was nominated for both the Contemporary and Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year awards. Our ‘Trust In Him’ recording was again nominated for Album of the Year. The group was also nominated for Gospel Group of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, and Traditional Band of the Year. We thank all the folks who nominated us. We are deeply humbled and grateful for all of the support that folks have shown us.
Bob’s heart condition has improved and he is feeling much better. After cancelling all of our remaining 2012 dates, we are now starting to take on bookings again. We have also picked up a new member for our group. You can read about him on our ‘About’ page.
